  • A not-so-secret secret: I love public speaking. Really. Put me in front of a group and I'm a happy camper.

In my downtime, I’m training for triathlons, zipping through Mensa activities, and baking fresh bread from aromatic grains I grow in my garden.

That’s in my imaginary life. In reality, I like the mundane: Playing with my dogs, kayaking on a quiet lake, savoring a cup of cocoa. But I can be persuaded . . . .

“Janna is a rock star! I had the pleasure of working with her for over 3 years at BKFK. She is a fantastic team player, someone who is super talented and also very easy to work with. As the editorial director, she always brought in great ideas to the table, encouraged creative thinking and focused on producing quality content. She fostered a very positive work environment and tackled all challenges with grace. I would LOVE to work with her again.”

~ Rumee Singh, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications at PepsiCo

"Janna reported to me during my tenure as VP of Business Development at Weekly Reader and served as the Managing Editor of Online Publications, following her work in the Custom Publishing group as writer, editor, and project manager. Janna's main focus was to create subscription-based websites that provided improved access to and enhanced functionality for WR print materials, both new and legacy. Rapidly transitioning from print to all things digital, Janna's role included daily collaboration with an overseas web development team plus integration with marketing, educational technology specialists, programmers, the many editors and designers throughout the company, and QA teams. She got up to speed quickly in the context of a still-evolving department with limited resources, and what I valued most were her flexibility, work ethic, ability to learn quickly, and strong writing and editing skills. We remain friends, and I strongly recommend her."
